Bronze Rooster

Length: 10 cm, width: 4 cm, height: 14.2 cm, weight: 571 g. Excavated from Pit No. 2 at Sanxingdui, this lifelike bronze rooster stands atop a gate-shaped square base, its head raised and tail plumage full. The hyper-realistic craftsmanship mirrors real-life roosters, showcasing both the imaginative and technical mastery of the Sanxingdui culture. Its polished surface suggests prolonged handling, while a socket at the base hints at its original use as a scepter finial.
